He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

i don’t think the main problem with the american church is “too many of them refuse to be scammed by a lady who is obviously lying.”
There is a lady on TikTok pretending to have a baby that has gone without formula all night — she is calling churches around the country to ask if they can help.

Some of them are really embarrassing themselves. Especially the mega-churches.

Hey, MSP. I got mine. Do you have yours?
A local 3D printing company has been printing these amazing whistles.

Can you help us buy out their printing capacity this week? That gets another 1000+ whistles into responder’s hands.

They cost approximately 50 cents apiece, and are sturdy and Minneapolis made!

Rosa @delauro.house.gov is one of the only House offices with the deep expertise necessary here, she is the top Dem House appropriator and a genuine champion for poor folks — "until that money ends up in people's pockets, this nightmare is not over."
The Trump administration has “agreed” to fully fund SNAP benefits, after being ordered to do so by a federal court. Until that money ends up in people’s pockets, this nightmare is not over.

If food assistance is distributed, it'll be despite Trump’s efforts, not because of them.

It’s not framed this way, but what they’re demanding is that people in cities like NYC refuse to address their issues to privilege the politics of “flipping red and purple seats blue,” which they haven’t even demonstrated an ability to do.

Evil as hell. Glad to know that one of my senators, @amyklobuchar.com, voted to confirm USDA Sec. Brooke Rollins, the monster who is forcing children to go hungry.

@amyklobuchar.com voted for most of the Trump monsters to show that she’s “bipartisan.” Thanks Amy, great job!
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

My friend, and someone who has stepped up in amazing ways to create safer communities across faiths, and especially for trans kids: “Jewish safety cannot be built on Muslim vulnerability.”

Amen.
“Ultimately," said Rabbi Bogard, "we have to make a choice. Our Jewish institutions have to commit to being a tent that’s big enough to include the widest spectrum of Jewish voices and small enough to keep out the bullies.”

If you’re not following them, fix that now. Lawfare for people with disabilities and those living in poverty.
I firmly believe, with every single atom of my being, that instead of amplifying unreliable information that discourages helping, our focus as 42 million Americans face hunger must be on providing factual information that enables people to help.
