I've heard many white people defend it as "well it's different enough now that it's not even the same thing" and my opinion on the matter is: in the grand scheme of things it's a VERY easy way to show a LITTLE respect to people we have historically treated like shit. So it's off the table.

Many members of several tribes have requested it not be used by non-native people, and that the name itself is considered taboo. The pop culture depiction of it as a scary deer monster isn't even that close to the real description of the being, so at this point calling it that is just further insult

The popular flesh-eating deer-monster with the name that starts with a W is a serious figure in many Native American tribes and has been requested many times that it is not used as some goofy fun movie monster. Instead how about you consider: Not Deer? cryptidz.fandom.com/wiki/Not_Deer

Hey all, there's still time to buy some almanacs for our incarcerated community. It's a heckuva deal!
People who are incarcerated often don't have access to the internet; the next-best thing is an almanac. $30 buys 3 almanacs that Freebird Books will send through Books Through Bars to people in prison. Please join me in sharing important info and the joy of reading with our incarcerated friends.

Decided to finally push back against the handwritten instructions for margarine instead of butter for pecan cups and the ancestors are punishing me for my sins by making me forget to par bake the cups before I filled them 🫠

Yup. For me it was Bob Probert and that era of fighting men.
Derek Boogaard's death changed the way I watched hockey. I haven't fully divested of it but I have completely changed my outlook when it comes to big hits/fighting.
