The Indian Removal Act is eerily similar to the GREAT Trust and Trump’s plan for Gaza. Here’s how:
To reconstruct the Gaza strip, Trump is drawing on a very old playbook—one that dates back to the 19th century.

Very generous of @unevadareno.bsky.social to speak with me about my involvement in a wonderful collaborative research project culminating in a publication in @erjournal-aera.bsky.social. I know we are all very excited for more people to become familiar with this "different Brown (vs. Board) story."
Legacy of Black educators in Navajo Nation schools
New research reveals how desegregation displaced Black teachers and led many to Navajo Nation schools, shaping Indigenous education.

Really wish Apple would bring back iPods. I don’t want my oldest to have a phone, but I want her to experience the joy of thousands of your favorite songs in a simple-to-use device that sleekly fits in your pocket.

Today is, among other things, a reminder that you don't get a general strike by posting that we should have a general strike.

You get a general strike—on the rare occasions you do—by the long slow slog of building organizing power with those around you in response to local conditions.

Nevada is an interesting landscape for schooling. The state insufficiently funds education, so schools are forced to fundraise for resources by various means. Example: my kiddos elementary school hosted a bingo night (which was fun!) that was sponsored by a local casino 🎰

Trump is not “bringing back” the age of U.S. imperialism. From Indigenous nations, to Guam and Puerto Rico, to migrants detained at our border, the U.S. has always controlled the lands and lives of people who had no say. The U.S. has always been an empire.

Once again urging schools to not de-radicalize #MLK for children/families/communities by reducing him to only championing racial equity, or marking the holiday as a “day of service” where free labor is extracted. Planning an event? Better to have a speaker/engage in dialogue about the real King.

Facts. America in a nutshell is “we as a society can’t have nice things because Black people would also have them”.

Our entire history has been this, and it’s far past time for all of us white people to wake up to these facts.
White people have always felt a fraction of what Black people feel. That's the agreement they signed up to. Less safety so Black people have none. Less access to healthcare so Black people have less. Housing insecurity so Black people can't accrue wealth. All to satisfy their desire to erase us.
