pure bullshit to use this photo which was two miles away and a neighbor coming out of his house to illustrate peaceful protesters at a church.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

Spin zone: this is how you know this app has the juice when it comes to sports
The thing I have learned from being a non-football fan on Sports Bluesky is that ESPN, the NFL, and its officials hate every team in the league.

This is indistinguishable from how the Mob would operate. The DNC is shaking down Minnesotans who are on the front lines of an occupation.

We will remember this.
I work with state parties every single day. There are only a handful of national leaders who actually raise real money for the year organizing state parties do--Ken Martin (dnc chair), Simon Rosenberg (Hopium), Sen. Warren and Actblue. Come for Simon and you come for all of us.
I'm not interested in arguing with the good people of Minnesota, on the front lines, doing the hard work of protecting our democracy. I've worked hard to bring your bravery and courage to the world in recent weeks on Hopium.

But attacks like this are false, defamatory, and need to end. 1/

Really remarkable to see national Democratic leaders attack people in the occupied Twin Cities.
Please Jane, come to minister and get the full Jack Lange treatment

If you have an opinion about Will Stancil you are a weird person. He's just a guy doing what he can to protect his neighbors and community from being disappeared.

If you've thought about this for more than 10 seconds, I require you to donate $20 to a mutual aid fund. Right now.
It feels like a fairly purposeful effort to remind everyone what they’re supposed to feel about me, what the Consensus Correct View is. It’s strange. Look I don’t care if you guys like me. But please focus on the Minneapolis neighbors who are resisting and not these pointless popularity contests

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

As I’m sure most of you know, I’m a huge ww2 nerd. This type of resistance and community organizing is like what you’d read from Anne Frank, the Dutch, and the French as their communities resisted the Nazis.

Except it’s happening right now. In Minnesota.

It’s been reported locally, but I’m not sure how much national notice this has gotten. As part of this invasion by shithead goons, they are putting ICE agents in jetbridges and other parts of the airport at Minneapolis-Saint Paul. If you are flying Delta via MSP, you are putting yourself at risk.

When this is all over, local Democrats will use this as an excuse to massively increase spending on police forces.
The Star Tribune had an insane graphic about the presence of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. There are more immigration officers in the metro right now than local police officers.

On the ground here in Minnesota, it’s hard to reconcile the immense bonds of community that have been built in a week with the fact that we live in a country whose government appropriated billions of dollars to an unaccountable paramilitary force whose sole purpose is ethnic cleansing.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

The past few weeks/months in the Twin Cities have been very challenging, but the response to the unspeakable horrors further solidifies that regardless of where I live, this is my vision for what America should look like.

Even when I move from the place, I want to take the spirit with me.
