In 2018, 20% of trans people in Aotearoa had avoided seeing a doctor because of fear about how they'd be treated for their gender. In 2022, that had dropped to 11%! There's been so much work that has gone into this - and tho there are other barriers, I think this is a win we should celebrate

There's still time to submit.
Even just a couple of sentences expressing your opposition to this heinous bill - it all adds up.

Please.

This thread is so important.

Just take 5 mins to write that you oppose X bill. If you need, cut and paste a few lines from someone else’s work.

But KEY message- lots of really smart people will use their expertise to articulate complex things well, your job is to simply state your position.

I've just published my own submission to Manatū Hauora's consultation on the right of transgender children in Aotearoa to access the healthcare they need - consultation they have opened on request from Minister Reti, with no good justification.

It's long, but may be useful for your own submission.

Now need to do something calming as the need to do it makes me so angry.....

Reminder: Submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill close 7 January.

Don Brash just emailed his followers saying they need to submit in support of the bill or Māori won't let them go to the beach anymore.

Even if it's only a paragraph or two, it's important to get your opposition on the record.
