Ceilings of TREATMENT.
We don't stop caring.
Would I expect the oncologist to say there are no chemo options? Or is it the preserve of the referring respiratory doc post MDT?

Should the cardiologist tell the family that the patient’s MIRACLE2 score is 7 therefore no PCI right now?

Or should ICU in person communicate the ceilings of care?

We made it. Whether we relished 2025 or were clinging on in desperation, the new year is arriving.
Time does that.

No resolutions from me other than to remain curious. It helps to deal with the unpredictability of... well, everything.

A Christmas present from @drjrubenstein.bsky.social & Dr Tammy Pegg.
If we talk clearly about the end of life, we put those frantic & unlived moments of unhelpful #CPR into context so their futility is clear.
CPR is fantastic first aid in a crisis. Ordinary dying isn't a crisis.
Talk about it.
🔥 New video release
“Can We Talk About CPR?”

These talks deserve time, care, and personalization.

Grateful to cardiologist Tammy Pegg for sharing her wisdom and experience for this one.

And grateful to my friend @drkathrynmannix.bsky.social for connecting us

I knocked my favourite vase off a window ledge a few minutes ago.
It fell too fast for me to reach it.
It hit the wooden floor with a 'boom!'
Then it rolled in an arc and came to rest.
Unbroken.

Thought I'd share a tiny piece of good news today.
What's yours?
