On today's World Day of Remembrance for Road Victims it is worth noting that in the two years since Wales implemented a national default 20mph (32km/h) there have been 25% fewer casualties on such roads with over 1,000 fewer people killed or injured. youtu.be/efr3uVKpOwY

I think @scarlettmcnally.bsky.social is absolutely right in this piece from the @bmj.com last month.

Some bits of healthcare can be simple and transactional, but a lot is much more nuanced, and there’s an important role for senior wise clinicians.

I'm glad your mum's dying was so peaceful, & that our NHS services have made such a difference to your own prognosis.
Isn't it amazing that, with a 100% mortality rate, there is so little training for doctors about dying? What a difference the right care makes.

BOA response to the BMA report on sexism & sexual violence

We lit up the night with our #RightToGlow, calling for safer cycling for everyone. Because when women can ride freely, we all can.

Put them together and you have one of the most powerful ways to decarbonise our cities and make them safer, quieter, cleaner and so much more FUN.
Electric cargo bikes can replace many everyday car trips for the average family and “reshape suburban family mobility”, say Oxford University researchers. 49 British households were loaned e-cargo bikes for school runs, shopping trips, family outings and other day-to-day use.
