I can walk without my stick, but I request a wheelchair at the airport EVERY TIME. Chronic fatigue is invisible to the general public, but it's a real thing. If I try to walk the airport I will be flat-on-my-back sick for the next two days.

I'm not gaming the system. I'm disabled, for reals.

If your house of worship is silent about the cruelty and the attacks on your neighbors by ICE, you’re at the wrong church, mosque, synagogue, temple, or gurdwara.

The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

When the streets start telling the truth, it’s because the institutions won’t.

What’s become painfully obvious is that ICE agents aren’t trained to make us safer. They’re just recruits who thirst for power, violence, and cruelty.

A warning that we could see "-20°C in London for 3 frozen months of the year", and -30°C in Edinburgh for 5 months.

Everyone needs to hear this whilst there's still time to avoid it. #NEB2025
Professor Tim Lenton of @exeter.ac.uk with an incredibly important warning about the dire consequences for the UK if we continue burning fossil fuels and cause the #AMOC ocean current to cross a tipping point—which could happen at 2°C.

3 years ago, when I recommended a massive organised switch away from X/Twitter, the EU Commission’s argument was “but our audience is there.”

Since then, that argument has become less valid by the day.

#DefendDemocracy #DSA #HandsOffMyEU
I don't see what's stopping the European Commission from saying something along the lines of: "We will no longer post on X and we don't think citizens of EU nations should post there either."
So what's the outcome?

2️⃣5️⃣ of the 27 Commissioners have posted in the last week

2️⃣4️⃣ of the 27 generally post every week (Albuquerque has never been on X, Ribera is sporadic, McGrath has somehow stopped)

0️⃣ have stopped as a result of what Twitter has become since the Musk takeover

2. It has *nothing* to do with improving clarity. There’s no evidence that people are confused by terms such as veggie burgers, meat-free sausages or oat milk. It’s a crudely protectionist measure designed to stamp out competition, by forcing plant-based companies to use offputting terms. 2/6

1. The European Parliament’s attempt to ban plant-based foods from being sold as “sausages”, “burgers” etc is a direct response to livestock industry lobbying. This is a short thread on how utterly bleeding ridiculous it is. 🧵1/6
