Basically the title. | gave him a “vacuum” button because the vacuum is stressful for him and I wanted to be able to clearly communicate that the vacuum was going to happen and let him know “vacuum all done.” He definitely knows what it means because when the vacuum is running he will push “vacuum” repeatedly and also add “nervous” in there too. But now he has started spamming vacuum after I tell him no, like he is using it as a curse word. For example, he will ask for “snackie” when we JUST got done with snackie and I will say “snackie all done" and then he will go spam the vacuum button. Yeah, ok bud, I hear you loud and clear that you feel "vacuum" about “snackie all done.” Or he snuck a lick from the end of my spicy curry dish (I did not authorize this, | looked away for ONE second), I could tell he regretted this (spicy), and then he went and pressed “snackie vacuum.” Yeah, ok bud, that snackie made your mouth feel “vacuum”. I don’t know what I'm asking really, just commiserating. I guess maybe he needs a "mad" button?

It’s not just that people don’t know there are simpler ways to do things. It’s that they’re being TOLD to integrate Ai into everything. I’m reminded, again, of the radium craze. Radium is not magic and nor is Ai. Both are, unfortunately, harmful.

Mariya Delano @mariyadelano@hachyderm.io I've been testing a theory: many people who are high on #Al and #LLMs are just new to automation and don't realize you can automate processes with simple programming, if/then conditions, and API calls with zero Al involved. So far it's been working! Whenever I've been asked to make an Al flow or find a way to implement Al in our work with a client, l've returned back with an automation flow that uses 0 Al. Things like "when a new document is added here, add a link to it in this spreadsheet and then create a task in our project management software assigned to X with label Y" And the people who were frothing at the mouth at how I must change my mind on Al have (so far) all responded with resounding enthusiasm and excitement.

labour doubling down on the danish model against migrants. this strikes me as particularly cruel: simply never let a person *with refugee status* settle & get on with their life. always uncertain when that status will be removed. a cold cold welcoming.
In Denmark, refugee status is temporary, and they provide safety and sanctuary until it is possible for a refugee to return home. In recent years, asylum claims have hit a 40-year low, and now, across Europe, countries are tightening their systems in similar ways. We must act too. We will do so by making refugee status temporary, not permanent. A grant of refugee status will last two and a half years, not five. It will be renewed only if it is impossible for a refugee to return home. Permanent settlement will now come at 20 years, not five.
