What I enjoy about this is the sheer amount of money loss and pain he is enduring to look somewhat more like me, a Jewish Brooklyn academic, who of course is all that is man.

Look I got no objection to making these arguments in a poly sci class in 1999 but we’ve got 25 years of experience in how banal and stupid this, do you actually work in politics?
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.

My opinion of the New York Times is distinctly outside the mainstream among journalists. Most think NYT is mostly excellent journalism with some flaws and blind spots, I think it's mostly a vehicle for laundering right wing propaganda with some excellent people who put out good work.
I just learned that this incredibly flawed story was put on the front page of the newspaper, and that certainly seems like an editorial choice
