Cancelling student debt and other fun.
Bernie alum.
Wow.
Interesting, my Congresswoman announced she is not running again. She has done good work, but is aged. I am toying with the idea of running for that office as establishment politicians seem to simply ignore their constituents in many cases. Not sure I have the energy, but it may be worth it.

Ousting Biden mid cycle did not work.

The drama around Schumer will also not work.

Dems will look untrustworthy to the public.

Too much beltway thinking.

Have a competitive leadership election in Dec 2026.

Many feel betrayal and frustration, and the feelings are hot right now.

I get it. I have my own feelings.

SCOTUS has granted certiorari in a case asking whether states can still choose to accept and count mail-in ballots which are postmarked by Election Day, as long as they are received soon thereafter, or whether federal law mandates E-Day receipt in federal races. www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?...

A march shutdown could have saved jobs.

and who thinks vought follows the law?
The RIFs language is actually great. Not only does it rehire the people RIFed during the shutdown, it makes it an unequivocal Antideficiency Act violation to do ANY MORE RIFs through the duration of the CR (Jan 30)

Completely stops Trump/Vought Phase 2 for now

Would love to see this standardized

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Even @mattyglesias.bsky.social gets that this is bad.

It’s a real BIG TENT MOMENT calling this out.
Schumer and the Dems are about to teach Trump the lesson that they’ll cave whenever he abuses power to sufficiently hurt people.

Trump is still using hunger as a political weapon while also refusing to address skyrocketing health care costs — and seems to be enjoying it. It’s the definition of sadism. A truly twisted man.

Women of Vanity Fair Consider: Wait, Did We Ruin the Workplace?
Today, The New York Times published a conversation between the conservative columnist Ross Douthat and two writers about just how bad ladies have screwed up corporate culture with their presence. We felt we should engage.

It’s not going to happen. It’s happening: The mainstream media is becoming right-wing. What are wealthy liberals going to do about it?
