Just out. Work by Marilene Lopes who did a sabbatical in the lab and her student Camila Fernandes We explored the mechanisms by which the co chaperone STIP1 affects embryogenesis and early development following the phenotypes of STIP1 KO mice 🐁 www.nature.com/articles/s42...
Stress-inducible phosphoprotein 1 (STIP1) is a critical stemness regulator in mouse embryonic stem cells and early mammalian development - Communications Biology
Combined in silico and in vitro approaches reveal that the co-chaperone STIP1 supports pluripotent stem cell identity, proliferation, and stress resilience, highlighting proteostasis as a key mechanis...

If you know an anti-vaxxer, you can congratulate them on this hard-earned "win".

Honourable mentions to the universities & political leaders who have been so instrumental in making it easier for them to succeed.

This was truly a team effort.

Great observation! Here’s an image from our dataset — the OB has a much higher vessel density than the rest of the brain, suggesting distinct vascular architecture. The video focus was set for brain contrast, causing overexposure in the highly vascular OBs.

Just published in Nat. Neurosci.

Led by J.P. Ferrari-Souza, this study used imaging & fluid biomarkers to reveal that microglia modulate Aβ-related astrocyte reactivity, which in turn contributes to AD progression.

Great to be in Toronto for the Second AG meeting for @tridentpct.bsky.social where our 🐁 molecular and cognition core will show what we are up to in the last 2 years facilitated by @touchscreencog.bsky.social and we will continue to learn about our organoid and marmoset models.

Bottom line of systematic assessment of studies on Covid vaccinations/boosters:
~50% reduction of hospitalization, across all adults (not just older) who are not immunocompromised
Real data on vaccine-induced myocarditis: occurred in 1-3 per 100,000 male adolescents

More necessary awareness: yes, parliament has the legal authority to do this. There are many reasons they should not. That it is legal does not mean it is ethical, necessary, non-destructive, or appropriate. It DEFINITELY doesn't mean it shouldn't be publicly opposed (👀 @u15ca.bsky.social )... /1
Canadian researchers should be aware the there is a motion before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Research to force Tricouncils to hand over disaggregated peer review data on all applications:
