ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

One of the biggest cons of my lifetime at least is the fear-mongering around the ostensible costs and disruptions of reducing or eliminating fossil fuel use and transitioning to renewables as much as possible. A historic long con.
Air pollution from burning fossil fuels causes 100,000 to 200,000 avoidable American deaths per year. At the EPA's statistical value of life of $10 million, these deaths cost America $1 to $2 trillion per year, every year. These costs far outweigh the costs of transitioning off of fossil fuels.

Maybe Wisconsin Democrats will win the Senate and Assembly this year.
In a state House race in Louisiana, a Trump +13 seat went to the Democratic candidate by a 62-38 margin — a 41-point overperformance.

Democrat Chasity Verret Martinez won the special election for State House District 60, defeating Republican Brad Daigle.

Trump carried this district by 13 points, fueling Republican hopes about flipping the seat. Instead, the Democratic nominee prevailed — by 24 points.

Lutnick should resign or be fired, along with Trump.
“.. He’s got a lot to answer for, but really, he should make life easier on the president, frankly, and just resign.”

Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

This is like when MAGA got mad at NPR for reading the Declaration of Independence and its list of abuses by King George.
I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

After a generation of one side relentlessly using all of its power to shape the ideological composition of the federal courts, and the other side straining to show everyone how noble they are—fair and measured and eager to bind themselves by the norms of the past—you get this.
“Late Friday night, the Fifth Circuit adopted the extreme minority view—that the government can indefinitely detain without bond millions of non-citizens who have been here for generations; who have never committed a crime; and who pose neither a risk of flight nor any threat to public safety.”
