If you would have told me @durbin.senate.gov was dead while ICE and DHS wage war on the people of Chicago, that would have made more sense than letting him write this
could durbin have picked a worse time to publish this?
Opinion | Trump turned the military on U.S. cities. I will continue to hold him accountable.
Excessive militarized ICE raids and misuse of the military will not make Chicago safer, writes Sen. Dick Durbin.

It appears that people who move to the third largest city in the country want to live in an actual city
Really interesting analysis from @zyudhishthu.bsky.social about how building housing, in general, benefits the ability of families to live in a city. pencillingout.substack.com/p/chicagos-d...

Hysterical framing because when everyone was pointing out how bad the economy was for working people during the Biden presidency, the only thing every centrist Dem could do is point to some graph from the St. Louis Fed or whatever that things were actually great, sorry
Democrats care about people. We don't want kids to go hungry. This is both our greatest liability and our greatest strength.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

Oh yeah they're taking the TRO really seriously
After @mandophotos.bsky.social photographed federal agents pointing rifles at 26th/Lawndale yesterday, I inquired with DHS about what threat had prompted them to pull weapons on a busy commercial strip (pictured). This is the response I got from a representative of the United States government.

Feel like it's important to lift up these kinds of stories because the people refusing to cave to this buffoon, but vengeful, administration deserve to be rewarded for their courage
While we do not agree on all issues, I want to publicly thank UNC-CH Chancellor Lee Roberts for clearly stating today in Faculty Council that UNC cannot and will not sign Trump's Compact, because it raises irresolvable issues of academic freedom. That was important for faculty & students to hear.
