ICE is a dangerous organization that acts with impunity.

I’ll do everything in my damn power to hold the Administration accountable for the death of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, and the death of Silvero and the shooting of Marimar in Chicago.

3D print whistles. Assemble whistle kits. Hand out know your rights cards. Take a shift at the ICE watch hotline. Offer to help manage a spreadsheet for your local mutual aid or community defense group. Walk kids to school. Raise money for resisters. Raise money for impacted neighbors.

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

This glib statement is all the more risible when you recall how many law enforcement officers used their vehicles as weapons against protesters in 2020... and how many Republican-dominated states *sought to legalize killing protesters with vehicles* as a reaction to the demonstrations
Noem: "People need to stop using their vehicles as weapons ... it's clear that it's being coordinated. People are being trained"

Kicking off 2026 with some fantastic news: there were zero traffic fatalities in the 1st Ward last year. When we invest in traffic calming infrastructure, we save lives.

I’m thrilled to earn the endorsement of @bscactionfund.org. I bike every day and rely on the CTA, so I see firsthand how essential our transportation systems are—and how urgently they need to be updated for the future ahead.

Far and away the most ambitious slate of endorsements we've ever compiled. Our farthest scope in the levels of office we're supporting, the geographic range of the candidates, and our internal process getting us here.

I'm so proud to champion these candidates and I'm ready to get them elected!

I would add that every bicycle lane, every transit line, and every street we can give back to people is also a tool in our march for peace as we try to get away from fossil fuels and the violence, despoliation, and corruption they enable.

2026 is the year we hold Chicago’s leaders to account for the promises they made and have abandoned.

No, you do not get to kill #PlowTheSidewalks, fight against safe streets legislation, rip out safe streets infrastructure — or threaten to defund it — and call yourself a transportation champion.

We have gone almost half of Brandon Johnson’s term without a permanent head at CDOT — and while we did, it was someone with no vision for the future.

We went the majority of his term with a bad and deeply unpopular head of CTA who he refused to replace.

Brandon and Zohran are NOT the same.
Zohran Mamdani has already surpassed Brandon Johnson by having department heads to announce before taking office and not waiting six months.
I think people are underestimating how much Mamdani, even more so than your average elected leftist, see it as his top priority to not be seen as a failed mayor. He is not going to be another Brandon Johnson, I’d wager

Important to note that these declines happened without a snap curfew and without restoring shotspotter. This will be crucial to remember when some elected officials try to seize on the next moral panic to pour more taxpayer money to fund bad crime-fighting ideas.
In a year when Donald Trump called Chicago the “most dangerous city in the world," citywide killings fell to a 60-year low, down ~30% from 2024, as overall crime kept dropping.

It’s the first time in a decade the city has had <500 slayings in a year.

Chicago records fewest killings since 1965, despite Trump's attacks against the city
Overall crime continued to drop as the number of murders in Chicago decreased from 587 in 2024 to 416 last year, when scores of federal immigration agents flooded the city and President Trump repeated...
