So, we went through the whole process to apply for financial assistance from the hospital to get this $1,500 forgiven or reduced, and they said no. No appeal, no nothing, just a denial. Even the payment plan options they have given us are outside of our budget. Any help would be so appreciated.

We're incredibly thankful for all the help we've gotten! Getting closer to the goal of paying this off, with 13 days to go before my knee replacement!

I'm reading Joe Hill's newest book, and it's... fine, but he's gotten into his father's habit of making his characters talk in ways that actual people do not ever talk. Like, teenagers don't call each other "old sport" and refer to England as "Old Blighty." It's jarring and irritating.

September 13, 2026 will be the 20th anniversary, in point of fact. For a brief period of time, my cat Ghlaghghee (pronounced "fluffy") was the most famous cat on the Internet. She took it in stride. One of the great moments of the blog era. We should do something for the anniversary. Suggestions?
