I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

This isn’t about awards it’s about the idea that ordinary people, standing together, can push back against fear, defend their neighbors, and demand accountability from those in power. That’s how democratic values stay alive!

😨 The fuckery never ends!
Administrative subpoenas are back in the spotlight. Worth remembering ICEs use of a similar tool: hundreds of thousands of warrantless “customs summonses,” often for non-customs cases sent for info about journalists, students, and abortion clinics, with no oversight.
ICE Is Grabbing Data From Schools and Abortion Clinics
An agency database WIRED obtained reveals widespread use of so-called 1509 summonses that experts say raises the specter of potential abuse.

My favorite genre of Epstein emails are powerful people emailing WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN about how MeToo has gone too far and the woke mob must be stopped.

At least the Nazis went to the trouble of passing the Nuremberg Laws and making the brutality and totalitarianism street legal. The gutlessness of the American run at fascism is that they want to do it simply by pretending the Bill of Rights never existed or meant anything.
Rep. Mark Harris: "Some of these things are nonstarters. Having judicial warrants? To me, hat's a nonstarter. Being able to make off their mask, putting them at risk? That's a nonstarter. I would say anything that's going to hamstring the work of ICE, that's just not going to go anywhere."

Lawbreaking is de rigueur in this badministration.

All of DHS should be seriously rethought.
74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting it, according to YouGov polling from last month.

Weak calls for "reform" are coming from *elected* Democrats like Chuck, not the average Democratic voter.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

You don’t build a natl surveillance apparatus just to manage a border wall. This weaponry could effectively nullify our right to protection from unreasonable search & seizure, could more easily enable the government to trample on free speech, could do all this without transparency or oversight.
Read this. We're going to need a lot of smart people to figure out how to undo all of this. If that's still even possible.
