New USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins received by USDA today.

Her: “…a privilege beyond description to have the trust of President Donald J. Trump, and the opportunity to advance his agenda.”

Actually, could you please look into how all the presidentially pardoned turkeys have been white and they last ate the brown ones…? I ain’t lettin’ this one go. 🤣 Seriously but seriously. They’ve let every white turkey go free.
Feeling confused about the newly politicized question of whether your Thanksgiving turkey is more expensive this year than last year? The Farm Bureau and President Donald Trump say it’s cheaper. The Agriculture Department says it’s pricier. Who’s right? trib.al/dB0UoE2

Pesticide exposure is a rampant problem in agriculture, and for child farmworkers, it's particularly dangerous!
Lax Oversight, Few Inspections Leave Child Farmworkers Exposed to Toxic Pesticides
Child laborers and other farmworkers in California are being exposed to toxic pesticides, in part because of splintered enforcement of safety regulations.

Here are some things about farmers:
1) American farm policy needs to change
2) operating a farm in the US is difficult because of agriculture and corporate policy.
3) corporate consolidations have decreased competition and makes farmers less profitable and is also bad for consumers

People have some fab cabbage recipes out here. The health benefits are tops, too. I haven’t ventured much past baking with butter and cayenne. What y’all got for cabbage go-to’s?
Look, everybody, it's gonna be a long-ass winter and we fired all the agriculture workers and all the other countries are pissed at us, cabbage is gonna be basically the only green vegetable we see this winter that you can afford, so just get used to it.

Two weeks ago, Grindr put on a fashion show of wool from "gay" rams rescued from slaughter. The media and the Internet swooned. But this feel-good story is a window into the dark role of forced reproduction in animal agriculture.

By me & @gnrosenberg.bsky.social.

The Internet Loves These “Gay Sheep.” The Real Story Is Much Darker.
A much-hyped fashion show with wool from “gay rams” obscures the brutal reality of an industry that exploits sheep sexuality at every turn.

A USDA spokesperson declined to comment, but y’all know I will. That’s only 42% state support.

29 MORE STATES SHOULD SIGN ON!

Hey state leaders: your state has federal SNAP, why are you not speaking up for your neighbors, friends and family who have no choice but to rely on SNAP? COME ON, MAN!
Washington, joined by 20 other states and the District of Columbia, accuses the Trump administration’s U.S. Department of Agriculture of illegally rewriting the rules for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, called SNAP. www.courthousenews.com/states-sue-t...

Climate change is going to push global food inflation to extreme highs over the coming decade.

Most people don’t realise how precarious most of agriculture globally is right now.

What do you say in reply to “Happy Thanksgiving” when you no longer follow the event?

There hasn’t been a brown turkey pardoned, no evidence of ever.

Truman ate his brown turkey before Kennedy pardoned his white turkey.
