Hitler's first concentration camps weren't in Germany; they were in Poland.
Pay close attention to what these vile MAGA Nazis do in Venezuela, especially if they put Stephen Miller in control of the operation.

Does anyone have links to reputable non-corporate news about civilian casualties in Venezuela? I can't find much, and the entire US media seems to be ignoring the issue and doing the "we are being greeted as liberators" schtick.

Like everything else in the human experience, disability occurs on a spectrum. Not all disabilities are visible or obvious, and it's not the responsibility of the person with a disability to prove to you that they are "actually" disabled. Just shut your fucking mouth with that gatekeeping bullshit.

Remember when Republicans went ballistic because Biden forgiving student loan debt was "a blatant violation of the Constitution?"
I wish Joe knew he could have just said "fuck it" and done it anyway.
That was before we learned that the Constitution is little more than toothless polite suggestions.

He won't stop until someone stops him. Venezuela was just the first step. He has a taste for blood and bombs now. He loves causing and watching death and violence. He wants to rule every country in the Western Hemisphere. He wants to be more infamous than Hitler, and the MAGA cult is all-in.

How does that old saying go?
You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb your way out of the Epstein files?
I think that's it.

I almost just had a sweet uplifting moment... almost.
Driving to walk the dogs, I see some kids in the distance. It looks like they are setting up a lemonade stand.
"Aw, that's really sweet. I needed that."
I get closer. Handwritten sign says Lemonade $4.99.
From sweet to dystopian in an instant.

"Don't criticize the military for betraying their oath to uphold the Constitution, or you might alienate their families, and they won't vote for Dems." is such an impotent strategy that it could have come right from a DNC consultant. But nope... just a BlueSky centrist being "moderate."

The rest of the developed world is leaving the US in the dust when it comes to green technology and renewables.
Meanwhile, the US priority is to invade sovereign nations on behalf of fossil fuel industries that profit by making the planet uninhabitable. (Oh, and to protect wealthy pedophiles.)

Being called "commie scum who hates the troops" because I'm anti-regime-change wars for oil is really taking me back to the early 2000s. Some things never change... and one of those unchanging things is how much neo-cons and neo-libs find common ground in their love for illegal wars.
January 4, 2026 at 8:02 PM
"How dare you bring up these salacious Epstein rumours while we are at war? That is so disrespectful to our troops!"
We will absolutely be hearing some version of this from the GOP and the corporate media very soon.
And sadly, the Jeffries/Schumer establishment types will play along.

I'm not suggesting that unenlisting from the military would be easy or without consequences. Ethical decisions are often the most difficult. That's why there are no monuments to people who "really wanted to do the right thing, but it was really hard, and they would have lost their jobs."
Be brave.
January 4, 2026 at 5:54 AM
Man, illegal wars are like a catfishing thirst-trap for neo-liberals.
They get so horny for all that war profiteering, they forget to keep pretending they have policy differences with the GOP.

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

There are plenty of ways to serve your country without being behind the trigger of a gun.
Teachers serve this country as much as anyone in uniform, and they are just as likely to get shot in the line of duty.
I'm not thanking anyone for their service if they serve fascists.
January 4, 2026 at 4:29 AM
Miss me with the "unless you've served in the military" gatekeeping bullshit.
Everyone is entitled to have an opinion on what OUR military is doing in OUR name. Today, they are committing war crimes.
January 4, 2026 at 4:25 AM
Question for all the enlightened centrists and liberals...
Are we still required to say "Thank you for your service" if and when the military shoots us for protesting against Trump?
I'd hate to be divisive or disrespectful.
January 4, 2026 at 3:19 AM
The most heroic thing anyone still in the military can do today is resign.
I mean, there's another thing that would be way more heroic, but I'd be arrested for suggesting it.
January 3, 2026 at 11:23 PM
I'm sure it's purely coincidental that on the morning after Trump starts an illegal war, there seem to be endless new BlueSky accounts with 0 followers making excuses for it.
Total coincidence.
January 3, 2026 at 8:16 PM
None of this is a "distraction."
These are perpetual concurrent atrocities.
January 3, 2026 at 7:23 PM
I hope the remaining democracies of the world unite to destroy the fascist regime that controls the USA. We are the bad guys. The UN should relocate to a free democratic country, and the rest of the world needs to ban all travel and trade with this terrorist regime. Fuck the USA.
January 3, 2026 at 6:53 PM
So, this should finally put to rest any delusions that there are decent people left in the US military who will stand up to illegal orders and protect democracy. The US military is now more likely to kill US citizens rather than help them. They are not our friends.
January 3, 2026 at 6:50 PM
I'm sure FIFA must be outraged at Trump for soiling the illustrious legacy of their "Peace Prize." Right?
January 3, 2026 at 6:43 PM
It's now obvious that the entire US military is complicit in this fascism. Anyone who stays enlisted now is a traitor. The US military has become 100% Trumps private fascist army, willingly allowing themselves to be used to steal oil and protect billionaire pedophiles.
