Minnesotans stand together 👏

The city’s women’s soccer team is speaking out against fear and violence facing immigrant neighbors — and taking action. For every 2026 season ticket sold, @mnaurorafc.bsky.social will donate to the Immigrant Law Center of MN, plus 15% of select merch sales.

Memphis is under a federal task force occupation that includes DEA, CBP, ICE, National Guard, state troopers, and (I’m not joking) IRS agents (IRS jackets kidnapping people). No national news.
ICE and CBP haven’t withdrawn from a single fucking U.S. city that they’ve occupied.

Abby Wambach being the first athlete to leave Wasserman and state it's because the agency's leader is a creep and all over the Epstein files is not a surprise.

Monica Samayoa probably should have done a little more research on Portland for this article.

"Now, with the owner of the Portland Trail Blazers hinting that the city’s only major league sports team could move away"

@opb.org Did Monica forget about the Portland Thorns and the Portland Timbers??

City and state officials have vowed to keep the Trail Blazers in Portland, but to do that they need to raise more than a half a billion dollars to renovate the nearly 30-year-old Moda Center. Portland's mayor has suggested a solution: tapping into the city's climate fund.

Portland’s billion dollar climate fund is being eyed to help pay for upgrades to the Moda Center, in an effort to keep the Trail Blazers in the city.

One good point from this piece by @vermontgmg.bsky.social is that ICE doesn't need guns to do its job (if they are going after 'bad hombres', they could ask for aid from other agencies). I bet if we banned their guns, a fair number of them would quit because it's not fun anymore.

Complete my annual active shooter training for work today. There was a whole slide this year dedicated to how not to get shot by police when you exit the building. It literally said, they have to view everyone as a threat to them. Why is this considered acceptable?

Mass market paperbacks are my favorite format. They're small, easy to carry, fit into pockets and bags, and just easier to use if I don't want to read the ebook. I don't love the larger formats and I do like a break from screens.
The mass market paperback, light in the hand and on the wallet, once filled airport bookstores and supermarket media aisles. You may never buy a new one again.
