The National Trust for Historic Preservation has filed a federal lawsuit to halt President Trump’s plan to build a massive new ballroom on White House grounds. The administration sidestepped multiple federal laws by advancing the project without required reviews.

Time to mask up if you don't want respiratory illnesses! (And hand washing against norovirus)
1. Looks like we're into #flu season, folks. A 🧵
#CDC reports that for the week ending 12/6, 3.2% of medical visits were for flu-like illnesses. The baseline — ie the point where flu season is considered to have started — is 3.1%.
This timing is pretty normal, coming after the mixing at Thanksgiving

Polling: "Do you think the rich have too much political power in the U.S.?"

Yes: 80%
No: 8%

Independent voters are 81%/6% on this; even Trump voters are 68%/18%.

Maybe a political party could lead on this issue.

When your health insurance premiums increase next year, thank MAGA Republicans. Donald Trump promised to “lower costs on Day One,” but he spends his days tinkering with plans for his vanity project White House ballroom. Let them eat crypto and pardons for dictators.

Commercial health insurance markets are highly concentrated, but the individual market, which consist mostly of ACA Marketplaces, has attracted more insurers and seen more insurer competition since expansion of the premium tax credits.

You might have heard the CDC's vaccine advisers bring up immigration as a disease threat. Actually, outbreaks often start when unvaccinated Americans bring back diseases. My latest:
The Racist Worldview Behind the New Vaccine Recommendations
ACIP’s recent decision to scrap hepatitis B vaccine recommendations for infants is inextricable from its advisers’ apparent belief that immigrants bring disease.
