FYI I cannot see messages on this app. Ohio passed a dumbass law and now Bluesky wants me to give info to a third party vendor to “verify my age” to even see who messaged me, which I’m not doing. So, long story short, don’t message me. I won’t see it.

Wrote about him in TNR, prior to Renee Good. Remarkably similar incident. He’d just dropped off his kid. They rushed his car. He tried to flee. Cops then claimed he tried to run them over, despite video evidence to the contrary.

Should’ve been a warning.

Let's also bring in the connection with tech giants: Google hosted a CBP app that used facial recognition to identify immigrants, while simultaneously removing apps that report the location of ICE officials because Google sees ICE as a vulnerable group.

And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.
ICE Says Critical Evidence In Abuse Case Was Lost In 'System Crash' a Day After It Was Sued
The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."

I wish I could say that political science professors had risen to the occasion over the past decade but collectively, as a discipline, I cannot think of any way in which our professional institutions have treated our political situation as the crisis it clearly is
Thinking about those law professors who have done their part to normalize what we are seeing, either by approvingly amplifying extreme right wing sources (like the Daily Caller, Federalist, Dan McLaughlin), or by writing scholarship about Trumpism like it's a hypo and not reality.

It has been more than 30 days since the Department of Justice was required by federal law to make all of the Epstein Files public. According to the DOJ’s own estimates, it has released less than 1% so far. The last time the Department of Justice released any documents was Dec. 23, 2025.
The DOJ offers only excuses as the Epstein Files remain secret

Part of the issue here is that they percieve opposition as unfair. You’re supposed to let them win and kiss their feet. If you don’t, that’s not only unfair, but if you win, it’s a kind of cheating. Like a toddler you let win so they won’t have a meltdown. bsky.app/profile/jeff...
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

lol our elderly black pitbull just stepped onto the shoveled top step of our porch, attempted to waddle into the back yard like normal, only to unknowingly and immediately fall and become completely submerged into a foot of snow, and then bounce back up looking like the Abominable Snowman. Amazing.
