The point of the AI project is to provoke despair in creative people. They haven’t produced profits or anything anyone wants, just a steady stream of articles about how us artistic types can’t do the thing we’re already doing, making art. Jokes on them, we’re even better at despair than they are.

For a v long time, I conflated "person who can make good art" with "person who has a functioning moral compass." I think that transference (based on appreciation, love, enthusiasm) is something a lot of us do. It hurts a lot when we find that our appreciation was hijacked so someone can do bad shit.

Of course I've seen Heated Rivalry. And read the book. It’s just very exciting to have it available legally in Germany so that the Russian is probably subtitled. Especially because they made the majority of changes to the book in the Russian bits.

Looks like we need another MeToo. The Epstein system looks so similar to Weinstein, and I'm so convinced we would have shrugged it all off without MeToo. It will ne hard enough without a central social media platform we are all on.
