Psst.

Hey, come closer.

No, closer.

I have a New Year’s secret for you.

It’s this:

If you care about people you don’t even know, and try to live your life that way, you are absolutely beautiful no matter what you look like.

Nobody will get free, NOBODY, will get free until y'all get that through your fucking head.

I am begging you, as neither man nor woman, to start approaching queerness & gender outside of the oppressor's perspective.

Breaking it down, b/c it’s bracing to see it all in one place. First: books are coming off of shelves in really high numbers this year. 271 books pulled (for LGBTQ content) in Conroe; ~200 books currently off shelves in Hays CISD. 455 in New Braunfels (though some may be returned after review).

Honestly this.

And this is the step where pro capitalist propaganda kicks in for most people

"Socialists/communists/leftists don't want anyone to be rich"

Nah fam. I don't care if people are rich. I just don't want anyone to be in poverty tfym
Also, I’m not against someone having expensive boots. I’m against my neighbors being homeless and hungry.

Starbucks has more union violations than any other company in the US.

i do not have the energy for working through the implications of this tonight other than to say california has ballot dropboxes that are collected daily and therefore can't be wrongly dated, every state should do this and Californians should strongly consider using them over mailboxes
USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked
