So like, over here we have laws, as in several social law books specifically, that regulate in detail what social workers do & how they should do it in what field.

I will say I'm getting more appalled the longer I watch the availability of the Heated Rivalry books in English in my city. It is now the middle of February, two episodes of the show are officially out here. At no point in time could you order any of the books & get an actual delivery time.

I've read the article about Heated Rivalry fandom bringing rpf and toxicity to the Olympics and i find the whole concept just as infuriating as disturbing, no matter where they bring it.
I also want to yell at them a lot about real life bc of their refusal to actually engage with real queer life.

Just had dinner with Mr M and watched the sprint relive and holy moly, that sure was something. Never thought I'd feel sympathy for Jacquelin but man, missing the podium by 0.2 seconds after *that* performance is bitter as hell.

I think a lot of the romance authors I read now I found bc someone recommended them to me with a ton of enthusiasm so I had to check them out. It's been years now, but Alyssa Cole, Beverly Jenkins, Alisha Rai, Talia Hibbett, Suleikha Snyder, Mia Hopkins & Alexis Daria became faves bc of recs.
Here's a fun question: what book and/or author do you now love because someone else put you on to them? For me, last year I was convinced to read Elmore Leonard's Swag (never read him before last year!) and I loved it. And Jordan Harper, also loved!

I love how you can time romances to certain beats. The kiss at exactly 50%. The big breakup at 75-80%. The grand gesture and reconciliation at 95%.
I don't mind predictable and formulaic... as long as the books still have -soul- and aren't paint by numbers.

I've been trying so hard to sleep right so I can get up a little earlier to take care of my back exercises and it's not going at all. Here I am at almost 3 am, being angry about extremely bigoted reviews of mm books by readers who read a ton of mm books and are the worst homophobes on this planet.

My grandmother has been Heidi her whole life. I didn't know she had another name & thought my grandfather calling her "Inge" in emergency situations was the actual nickname for large parts of my life.
The name on her adoption papers (she doesn't have an original birth certificate) is "Ingeborg".
