This couplet from Vayalar has been on my mind lately. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it, ages ago. Its essence is what I’ve believed in all my life.

"സ്നേഹിക്കയില്ല ഞാന്‍ നോവുമാത്മാവിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിടാത്തൊരു തത്വശാസ്ത്രത്തെയും”

Poorly translated as:

“I will not love a philosophy that does not love the suffering soul”

A song from the Dhurandhar 📽 soundtrack infuriated me when I heard it. It quotes—or more precisely, interpellates—"I Feel Love," the monumental hit from the disco era that is also the first EDM song.

Here's the story of how a jingoistic, saffron propaganda film made EDM its own 🧵 1/7

Oh, excellent! Did you see how this song (specifically the chorus) was sampled recently on the #Dhurandhar soundtrack? open.spotify.com/track/7q3zgW...

I need a notification alert for whenever a contemporary Hindi film is released that ISN'T a xenophobic flag-waving RSS recruitment video. If it pinged once a year, I'd be shocked, I suspect.

It’s so hard to have a reasonable conversation about AI, because people refuse to see the massive upsides of job elimination, higher electrical bills, hard drive shortages, poisoning black people in Memphis, and an economy where a handful of pedos with bad hair control your life

again: it is amazing the degree to which the Democrats as a party don't give a shit about illegal wars, about the decimation of Afghanistan and Iraq, about the widespread normalization of Islamophobia in the U.S., about all the evils of Bush & Cheney. grow a backbone!
BRO, WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?!

This line from the latest episode of Industry was brilliant. The overall episode was a major let-down though.
“Some here think Americans got bored of having the best lives, so they elected a narcissistic dementiac to detonate it all so that their kids might earn factory workers’ wages building widgets pathetically stamped Made in America.”
Some of the pretense hits the mark, no?

All right, this just about wrecked me

I'm sure we've all seen the graphic that lays out the United States ' relationship with slavery. It's good, but I never thought it was quite impactful enough. So I made my own.

I've used a few key events, including my birth, to highlight how recent these events are in history.
