This. Read books. Join a choir. Invite your friends over for dinner. Paint a mural on your neighbor's garage with a bunch of kids and use it as a backdrop for the play your other neighbor wrote. Take up knitting. Give a sweater to someone asking for change. Socks too. Plant a garden. Spread beauty.
The most effective way to resist this modern brand of fascism isn't to completely immerse yourself in its propaganda. You're actually helping their message spread. Go and make art or read a book or spend time with offline people. You can't marinate in the horror and emerge unscathed.

Meal prep for the week done! I roast up a bunch of veggies on Sundays & add proteins for quick dinners throughout the week! Herb Roasted Grape Tomatoes & Shrimp, Maple Thyme Roasted Carrots & Parsnips, and Lemon Herb Roasted Broccoli!

My advice for today (US):
Get off social media
Do something to support your local community, especially the marginalized folks ever targeted by this vivious regime
Otherwise, nest at home. Have a conversation with a friend. Make art. Anything to recharge your batteries for whatever’s next.

I was in NYC on a group trip, walking down the sidewalk and Richard Gere had just come out of a theatre and started hollering at “the girl with the hair” (my hair was waist-length at that time) - I had no idea who he was, as this was before An Officer & a Gentleman - so I kept on walking!
