Arts: music, songwriting, photography, films, books. Anything that touches the senses nicely. OK, I can't avoid politics, but then...none of us can.
Every word true.
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

Don't know why @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com hasn't mentioned this...
Can’t say who but someone’s saving themselves £2.50 on a card by being single tomorrow. 😎

Ensuring that the right people are voting to elect the right leaders.

If I were religious, I'd be praying for the USA, RN. There's very little traction left on that slippery slope.
1. In an unusual press briefing today in AZ, Sec. Kristi Noem made the extraordinary (but vaguely delivered) claim that as head of DHS, she has authorities over elections, including to make sure that “the right people are voting and electing the right leaders to lead this country.” That is false.

George has a good day at market.
🧵Spotted on Market Day on Valentine's Day in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A woman (70s?) in delightful boho fashion is sitting at a pretty cafe table.
A pot of tea and a little pink cupcake decorated with a love heart sitting before her.
A small, contented smile on her face. (1)

This pretty perfectly sums up 90% of streaming content.

'For God's sake, don't let them switch channels! Keep those subs rolling in.'
The History Channel loves to be like “did Hitler store 10 billion dollars Nazi gold in this Pennsylvania house?” and answer that question as demonstrably “no of course not” and then make 18 seasons of “Pennsylvania Hitler House”

That's how to do it 👏🏻
this is how journalists in Ireland deal with Farage when he's waffling with false information.👇
Ireland voted NO for the Lisbon Treaty in the 1990s. The Irish gov said "hold on. this is a massive mistake, let's do this again, properly".

Turns out brexity rhetoric about an EU army & neutrality worried Irish voters.

Here's Farage schooled on same.
(Spoiler: We went again & voted YES)

I have asked the BBC to scrutinise + correct the factually inaccurate claims made by Mr Nigel Farage about why net migration fell in 'Political Thinking with Nick Robinson'

Here is the link if you want to do something like this.

Palantir, a US spy-tech firm, has been given access to millions of NHS patient records.

Its founder has said the NHS should be 'ripped up'.

Join me in calling on the government to end the dangerous Palantir contract.

I'm so often in a tiny minority, so it's so very pleasing that other people are loving Small Prophets as much as me. It's such a wonderful series for so many reasons. So much more than a comedy.

Wonder if @vcorenmitchell.bsky.social has seen Small Prophets? Oh, and can you please tell us when the next series of Ludwig will drop?! And can you please armstrong the BBC into putting the Only Connect wall quizzes back on the website?! 😁
That was lovely. Gentle nods to other things too. Mackenzie Crook is obvs a fan of Monday nights on BBC2. Reference to Mastermind in Detectorists and Only Connect in Small Prophets.

If you haven't watched any of Mackenzie Crook's new series, Small Prophets, I urge you to do so. Such a wonderful, wonderful experience. 🥰
Haven't seen any of Things You Should Have Done (will investigate!) but just finished bingeing Small Prophets. What an absolute delight! Warm, funny, mysterious, slow & gentle. The writing, the acting, the direction, all so carefully, tenderly done. And the touching opening up of who we are. 🥰🥰🥰

This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...
