England seemed to him to be nothing but horrors and misery now. The very shapes of the trees were like frozen screams.

Happy St Valentine's day to everyone who is grieving someone who is longer here. Life is just so full of sadness.

In the kitchen listening to The Clash. I'm not the biggest fan, but my wife's older sisters were very active in the early Rock Against Racism years. They used to sneak into the skinhead pubs & leave stickers wherever they could. Anyway, Alice is much younger, but seeing her bop to it is so lovely.

Just listened to this for the first time. Really good album. All the ingredients were already on display.

#Caturday Cromarty is slightly concerned that the wine rack is almost empty on Valentines Day.

Cycling to work this morning along a terraced street. Car comes up behind me revving his engine and beeping his horn. I stopped, raised my middle finger & told him to fuck off. Pretty sure he thought I was a woman from behind because of my long hair as that was the end of the matter. Cunt.

Alice just made an omelette so divine that I would give it a Michelin star if I had the authority to do so.

My favourite song. It never appeared on an album. It's just the best B side that ever happened. (Yes, Rain is great but this is better)

I've been cleaning some old LPs with a view to sell. I can't sell this one, it's just too good. Memories of my double paper round in the late 80s that funded my early onset vinyl addition.

I spent a few hours trying to value a load of 1990s 12" dance/trip hop/drum n bass singles today. Most are worth next to nothing, but the Mo Wax stuff seems to be increasingly in demand and valuable.

Who's singing lead vocals on this? It certainly doesn't sound like Gruff. Great song either way.

Somehow, my son's band have landed a gig at BIMM in London. It's like a battle of the bands thing in front of lots of music company executives. *THEY HAVEN'T WRITTEN A SINGLE SING YET* It's in 2 weeks, they're going with I Don't Need You Anymore by The Kinks & Losing Touch with my Mind by Spacemen 3

It feels like once a day, every day, a photograph emerges from America that will still be in use 30/40/50 years from now to illustrate the dire situation that the US appears to be in.

Help! We have finally broken into this 1980 jukebox and it has some life in it. However, it only plays a single song then just stops. Anybody know anything about these contraptions?

Age verification. I saw John Craven reading the news about John Lennon's death. I only had one LP at that point and it was a Beatles album that my gran had bought me.

#NowPlaying I am loving this album. A 1970 private set of demos by a guy who was heavily involved in the early days of what would later become Pink Floyd. A lovely mixture of 60s psych pop and whimsical English folk. I'm hoping that @scribblerrob.bsky.social knows a little bit more about him.

Does anybody happen to have a Rough Trade vinyl copy of Virginia Astley's From Gardens Where We Feel Secure that they are prepared to sell? Has to be a minimum of VG/VG. Genuinely asking for a friend.

I'm no Labour voter, but this is fucking ridiculous.
it will really be something if the Epstein Files unseat a British Prime Minster who isn't in them, and not the American President who was Epstein's best friend.
