Over two decades, he’s driven changes that have reverberated well beyond the borders of his state.

If there was a Democratic Stephen Miller, the issue they would need to singlemindedly focus on would be the problem of oligarchy.

The reason there isn’t a Democratic Stephen Miller is that the most powerful people in Democratic Party politics are on the wrong side of our best issue.
I will note something I keep hearing from different lawyers, immigration activists, Dem operatives et al:

There is no Democratic Stephen miller . And that’s a problem

We reached out to every Senator who took that chummy photo with Benjamin Netanyahu last week — about the Israeli settler killing of an American that took place two days after the photo.

None had said anything about it publicly.

And then none answered our questions about it.
14 Senators Posed With Netanyahu – But Said Nothing When a Palestinian-American Was Killed by Israeli Settlers
From the White House to Congress, there's largely been silence from US leaders on the brutal killing of 20-year-old Florida native Sayfollah Musallet.

"Anyone who labels him an antisemite is demeaning that loaded phrase. Many are mistakenly conflating strong criticism of the Israeli government’s policies with antisemitism. By that fallacious definition, we have tens of thousands of Jewish antisemites living in New York City."
"Zohran Mamdani is not an antisemite or a Communist, as quite a few people – even those in public office who should know better – are trying to brand him."

Opinion: Weaponizing antisemitism is dirty politics
Zohran Mamdani has been unfairly branded as both antisemitic and a Communist. Neither are true.

The Times saying last year they'd no longer endorse candidates in local elections, then immediately being like "oh but not THAT guy" 10 months later because the candidate wants free buses gives away the whole game. "Objectivity" means you break your own rules to punch left as much as you want.
NYT Editorial board effectively endorses Andrew Cuomo today in the most weaselly possible way. “Don’t rank Mamdani, and it will probably be either him or Cuomo, sooo…”

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way." — FDR
The vote failed on a 49-49 tie. Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democrat, was in Korea for an ocean conference. Mitch McConnell, who also supported the measure, also missed the vote.
Later today the Senate will vote on my bipartisan legislation to end Trump’s tariffs. This has a real chance of passing. I encourage everyone to make your voices heard with your Senators if you feel strongly about this issue. I’ll be working to get it across the finish line. More soon.
