Sort of gives away the lie that they're arresting hardened criminals who are drags on society when they're setting up traps to lure in Good Samaritans
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

North Carolina lawmakers have voted to remove all college campus voting sites. Specifically at the largest HBCU in the US NC A&T. They now have to walk 30 minutes to their nearest polling place. Students are protesting this - pls share and support.

Even without an on-campus voting site, NCAT students still marched to the polls. 💙💛 Students at North Carolina A&T showed that barriers won’t stop their voices. When access isn’t easy, they organize. ...

This is what authoritarians are never gonna understand: average, everyday citizens do not like watching paramilitary thugs brutalize children. All the vaporware memes in the world can't fix that for them
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

NEW: Hundreds of judges around the country have ruled more than 4,400 times since October that President Donald Trump’s administration is detaining immigrants unlawfully, a Reuters review of court records found.

The government keeps doing it nonetheless.

"Dress up as your culture" day is tricky because my kids' school is very international. You can't claim Italian when you're 4th generation and there are kids in your class born in Italy. My solution: Mets gear. Your culture is "Mets fan," kids, in more ways than you yet understand, and I'm sorry.

Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".

Nice to see the CNBC guy push back on this guy.
He’s absolutely right that prisons and other detention places were bad under Dem presidents.

And know what today’s critics of ICE did then? Complain abt it and demand change.

Is this just a lame deflection, or do GOPers like this genuinely not understand that not all ppl put party loyalty first?
CNBC: What about the horrific conditions in DHS detention centers? Do they need to be looked at?

REP. JASON SMITH: I'm sure those conditions never existed under Biden or Obama

CNBC: I'm sorry, sir. I'm not asking about Biden. I'm asking about conditions right now. I think it's a natl embarrassment

Gallup has measured Presidential approval ratings for 88 years.

Their last report on Trump had him with the lowest rating for any President record in history.

Today they announced they won’t measure approval ratings anymore.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

These dudes think this is so clever.

Beyond the difference in harms that accompanies the age limits for booze and voting, there were 26,000+ arrests of minors for liquor law violations in 2019. It’s a relatively common crime.

There are functionally no arrests each year for in-person voter fraud.
Rep. Brian Steil: "I flew home to my home state of Wisconsin, went to buy a 6 pack a beer, the clerk asked for my ID, confirmed it, and then I was allowed to buy the beer. I just think it's nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots."

Is this the same boy who was cowering in his apartment near Chicago when someone found out where he lived and people started showing up at his building?
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

Progress? For the record, I was opposed to the lights. (I know. I know.)
Let there be...more nights

The City of Chicago designated Wrigley Field as a landmark on February 11, 2004, adopting the prepared Landmark Designation Report and limiting future alterations to Wrigley Field. It also paved the way for more night games.

I guess South Carolina has banned all the books, so now they're moving on to their next super important issue. I watched for a couple minutes, but when the speaker quoted a Reddit forum, I was out.
Right now, South Carolina lawmakers are considering S. 162, which would make it impossible for transgender people to change the gender marker on their birth certificate.
