Less James Bond. More Jackson Lamb!
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”
Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:
“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

On November 10, 1898, a shocking coup was executed in Wilmington, North Carolina, as white mobs led by former Confederate Col. Alfred Moore Waddell overthrew the city’s elected biracial government and massacred 60 or more Black people.

Sooooo, Lewis Strauss was right but solar not nuckuler.
I mean, it ain't utopia but it feels like something that might be in roughy the same direction so WHY NOT THIS? WHY FUCKING AI?
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

I know I am screaming into the wind, but our branches of government are not supposed to trust each other. Our entire system is based on the assumption that no one can be trusted and our institutions are supposed to be in each other's business.

RAJU: Given how dire things are for so many Americans right now, how do you justify the administration giving this big massive bailout to Argentina?
MIKE JOHNSON: Look, we give the execution of foreign policy to the executive branch. We trust the president. Let's talk about the government shutdown

There are 37 donors funding the $300 million build of the new White House ballroom.
Unsurprisingly, Amazon is on that list. But you know who isn’t? Independent bookstores.
And this is why it will *always* be bookstores over billionaires. ✊

The Louse that Roared
Trump has done what the British did to Washington in 1814, has depicted himself doing what Japan in 1941 did to Pearl Harbor, and has demanded we pay him wartime reparations.
He is at war with the United States—with all of us.

I just invented a new word/phrase!
Inbox fatberg or iFatberg
From Merriam-Webster
Fatberg: a large mass of fat and solid waste that collects in a sewer system
So an iFatberg is a large mass of emails and spam that collects in your inbox while you are out of the office.

I was born at Children's Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1960, three years before this mook slipped suddenly head-first from his mom's well-worn womb on whatever truck lot she was laboring, thereby suffering the regrettable injury that has so burdened the rest of us ever since.
When idiot Ron Schneider was born in 1963, the infant mortality rate was 29/1,000. It is now close to 5/1,000. So, no, children were NOT healthier when he was a kid. And he was, clearly, dropped on his head.

Mamdani is well dressed, has to be very careful in his approach, and his record is damn near spotless. Platner is a fucking Blackwater merc with an SS tat and everyone from Sanders to Vigeland to fucking Jacobin is tripping over themselves to defend and equivocate. Fucking disgusting.
Mamdani: "I thought that if I could build a campaign of universality ... if I behaved well enough or bit my tongue enough ... it would allow me to be more than just my faith. I was wrong."

One thing that bothers me when I think about it, which admittedly is not often, is that when people refer to him, both in the movies and "in real life" they call him "Double Oh Seven."
But that's not his code name. His code name is "Double ZERO Seven." Those are numbers not letters. WTF?

So they are basically telling anyone working in the Treasury Building to NOT take photos of the destruction wrought by the guy who is responsible for them having to work without pay.
I got ten bucks that says there is at least one joke "Scenic Overlook" or Selfie Station in that building.

What’s ironic is that Noah Webster, which this dictionary is half founder, consciously and aggressively changed the spellings and definitions of English to make it more American.
Not to be THAT dictionary, but…
It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’
It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'
