This if from yesterday: "A White House official told The Washington Post on Friday that the president 'supports diplomatic efforts from our allies that could bring Iran closer to taking his deal.'"

They lied.

Springsteen should hold a massive free concert in the Washington, DC, area on the day of Trump’s stupid birthday parade and we’ll see who draws more people.
After attacking Taylor Swift, Trump attacks Bruce Springsteen and threatens that he “ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the country.”

fucking catastrophic & murderous
Dozens more pregnant and postpartum women have died in Texas hospitals since the state banned abortion, our analysis shows.

As the maternal mortality rate dropped nationally, it rose in Texas by 33%.

ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis is the most detailed look yet into a rise in life-threatening complications for women experiencing pregnancy loss under Texas’ abortion ban.

The cruelty is by design.
This is just one of the most direct ways Trump's plans will contribute to skyrocketing homelessness. And with homelessness being criminalized the homeless are going to be rounded up for incarceration doing slave labor.
The Trump admin is weighing (legally) unilaterally cutting Section 8 housing & select other funds.

Because of how far into the fiscal year we are, this’d be an immediate 30% cut to Section 8 and would kick more than 2 million people out of their homes.

Boring technical thread to follow explaining.

This is more important than you realize. Bluesky doesn’t downgrade links. Which means news sites will get more traffic from here than other sites.

Which gives them economic reasons to post here first.
Bluesky says it is now sending referral traffic through its "go" subdomain to make it easier for publishers to track the traffic coming from the social network (Sarah Perez/TechCrunch)

This is an INCREDIBLY serious story for Washington, DC.

There is one prosecutor for DC: the federal/DOJ US Attorney for DC. That's a Trump-appointed position now. The Trump appointee is corrupt, venal, MAGA.

Here the DC police wanted to prosecute a crime, and the Trump USAO SAID NO. 1/

A small unelected, secretive crew now has free access to sensitive private data of everyone.

And Musk is already publicly targeting family members of judges who rule against the administration.

If this isn’t ringing alarm bells, I don’t know what would.

McConnell arguably saved Trump's butt by not voting to convict Trump in his second impeachment and pushing a bogus argument against a guilty vote. This is how Trump pays him back. All other Republicans should take note. Your cult leader will eat your face in a moment's notice.
SHOT: Mitch McConnell votes against RFK Jr. to be HHS Secretary.

CHASER: Trump expresses doubt that McConnell ever had polio and then questions McConnell's mental faculties.

"He's not equipped mentally. He wasn't equipped. 10 years ago, mentally, in my opinion."

At least $12 *trillion* from global oligarchs is hidden offshore in secret tax havens worldwide. And it is headquartered right here in the USA.

Instead of cutting lifesaving programs like the VA, Medicaid, and food stamps, we should be cracking down on tax havens for the ultra-rich.

One Roberts clerk, one former Gorsuch clerk, and one future Gorsuch clerk. All working for DOGE to help Musk usurp the government.

Like I wrote earlier today, the courts are not going to stop this.
NEW: ProPublica has identified three lawyers with elite establishment credentials who’ve joined the DOGE effort. Two of their names haven’t been previously reported as working for the Elon Musk-led initiative.

Here’s what we know about them:
