Yes we're called Orioles fans
Are there sports guys on here who adopt the annoying too-savvy doomerism of politics guys? Saying stuff like "You really think there's going to be a second half"
if you see someone posting "I CANT BELIEVE IT, HOLY SHIT" or "THIS IS UN-FUCKING REAL" later this afternoon know with confidence it's either someone watching "the big game" or more evidence of elite wrongdoing uncovered in the unending global pedophile trafficking scandal

they believe in nothing, they love nothing but their own power, and they have no moves that don't involve spamming the hate button
time and time again, MAGA Republicans are more excited to target and root against American athletes who have spoken out against them (or, in this case, merely expressed ambivalence) than they actually are to celebrate winning American athletes
What Hess actually said:

“Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the US.”

It's also important to recognize that unhoused people are in cities because they *can* be, in contrast to suburbs that implement housing policies to exile lower-income people to other locations. Suburbanites complaining about the existence of homeless people in cities have a hell of a nerve.
man I’m sorry to be all corny here but when I see a “the city is beautiful! There’s more to it than homeless people!” I gotta say you know who’s also beautiful? People who have no place to live & are trying to get by in a system that has turned its back on them & if you don’t see that that’s on you

Damn. RIP Sonny Jurgensen.

In a broadcast once I heard Sonny and Sam Huff spend a good 7-8 minutes during a game broadcast trying to retrieve a set of keys one of them dropped out of the press box window onto a ledge below.

Now that Trump has admitted he did this himself, hope the reporters who fell for the lying excuses will name their anonymous sources. That’s the only way to discipline such behavior.

If you won’t say this, you should not hold public office
AOC: We are going to have to reckon, as a country, with this time. And I hope that that reckoning includes prosecution of people who are involved with the lawbreaking and human rights violations they are knowingly engaging in right now.

I’ve done marketing for news for almost 30 damn years.

Treating your potential customers like they are dipshits is terrible strategy, ESPECIALLY when they read the news!

You can get an MMR booster at your local health dept for free or cheap!

That’s what I did. Got an iridescent bandaid too
PSA: I'm almost 50 and had my doctor do a test for measles immunity at my annual visit. Turns out, I don't have immunity anymore and need a booster.

She did the test because I'm in the age range where we may have gotten the old vaccine that doesn't last as long as the later vaccines.

I am my own legal department: the promise and peril of “just go independent”
Independent publishing is one important facet of the media ecosystem, and while I love it, I know it is not the path for everyone.

This sounds familiar... 🤔 But growing a newsroom from the ground up takes time and money — and frankly, we need way more resources than we have now to fill this massive gap.

A lot of people cannot just start a paid newsletter or become freelancers to sustain their careers. The sports, metro, and international desks did work that requires *team* resources, like legal checks, documents, access to archives, and long-term beat experience.
