The Newspaper Experts come jumping out every time trying to explain that we all just don't get that this huge package glossy photo 5,000 word profile using up extremely valuable real estate is actually a Carrie-like prank. For some reason.
I don't know much about irony or newspapers so I guess they got my ass once again.

They arrested ~16 people with criminal records.

They terrorized thousands,
brutalized protesters,
destroyed families,
cratered businesses,
tear-gassed a Halloween parade,
traumatized kids in a day care,
killed a man,
& pepper sprayed a baby…

for 16 people with criminal records.

The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

When the movie Jaws came out 50 years ago, it was promoted with the tagline, “Don’t go in the water.” The new documentary The Age of Water could tweak that to “Don’t drink the water.”

But this film is not all dark; it’s a hopeful tale about the power of ordinary people organizing for their rights.
