I know it's Texas, and we left bc I had a pretty solid idea of what was coming down the pike, but this is still a brutal kick in the gut to see the state's flagship university and my alma mater "honored" and "enthusiastic" to cement its place in history as a fascist collaborator.

A new McCarthy era is upon us. Stupid, depressing, and dangerous as ever. I wonder whose name will carry the dunce cap in the history books. Too many are complicit. I’ll need to find upset and action, but for now I’m feeling grief at the dehumanization inherent to all this.

Rufo straight up admits that the entire framing of being against "cancel culture" was BS and they just wanted to be the ones doing the "canceling."

Every radical centrist who was just asking questions in the Atlantic played their useful idiot role in bringing this to fruition.

Why this isn't awful:
- anyone can already file a discrim. claim, including those from 'majority backgrounds'
- the issue before SCOTUS is if MB claimants need to show their employer did this habitually, a higher burden imposed by 6Cir
- likely to be rev'd + rem'd, shouldn't need to prove a trend
