people over 30 quote this with some life advice for the rest of us?
Recognize that you've grown up in unusual, hyperpartisan times, and that your views of both American values and how government works have been severely skewed as a result.
Another day, another atrocity.
"an unusual mass deportation to a country with a poor human rights record that the United States had bombed earlier this year in an effort to set back its nuclear program"
but we're sending them back dissidents "who repeatedly told American authorities that Iran would persecute them"

“For decades, Iranians fleeing persecution have found protection in the United States. But this fall, the Trump administration deported a planeload of people to Iran after making a deal with Tehran.”

Politically I don't think this will matter all that much come November 2026. It may matter in the primaries though.
I tend to think "cause a lot of collateral damage to the economy/people's well being for no gain" is bad. But the politics are not as clear as the policy yeah.

This is the only, ONLY justification I can see for ending the shutdown.
But it’s still a defeat.
Yes, people will get paid. That’s good. Travel will pick back up. Thanksgiving will be brighter.
But strategically this gained the Dems nothing. Leadership must change.

I mean, if the Dems were gonna let the Republicans put their hands on the burner then that was one thing.
But I know some argued that Republicans were *never* going to cave and were *also* never going to nuke the filibuster. Maybe that’s true? If so continuing the shutdown would have been wrong.

That's two major Dems calling for a change.
This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.
We need new leaders in the Senate.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

See, we get rid of Obamacare Subsidies and Social Security so people have to work until they die--
--because how else will they pay off their *50-YEAR* MORTGAGE?
Checkmate, Libs!

Trump and his cronies are now pushing 50-year mortgages.
Buckle up. This is going to make the 2008 mortgage crisis look like the good old days.

If someone said this last year people would have called them hyperbolic.
Even I wouldn't have believed Trump would be this blind to the optics.

The Trump Administration, in the middle of demolishing a wing of the White House to create a ballroom funded with bribe money, wants their friends on the Supreme Court to rule in their favor to avoid providing food assistance to low income people weeks before Thanksgiving.
Unbelievable.

I’ve probably seen too many of these videos for my mental health, and this is by far the worst one.
This is inhuman.
The Democrats need to have the midterm convention they’ve discussed, and it needs to feature a sobering supercut of these videos.

ICE grabs father by the neck—send him into violent seizure while his arms lock up around his toddler.
"He's having seizure and they're trying to rip the baby out of his hands!"
Agents then handcuff him—before putting in ambulance with his child.
Mother is detained by agents as target of arrest.

This isn’t “family policy.” It’s rigging elections via disenfranchisement of single adults.
The emphasis on family policy is very evident in Heritage’s policy work.
One draft paper we obtained proposed a “Manhattan Project” for more babies.
A subsequent draft floats giving straight married couples an extra “half vote” in federal elections for each of their children.

I think a thing we'll learn tonight is that people fucking hate what is going on and they will straight ticket vote against anyone involved in starving people while pillaging the country and kidnapping their neighbors. I don't think it matters at all who that person is.

Someone’s obituary was changed by a stance that, when the chips were down, he and his family didn’t have to make. A stance that ended his daughter’s career. Regardless of past misdeeds, I can respect that and not be a jerk today…and perhaps some of the rest of you can, as well, if you try.

This sounds incredibly delicious.
Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

Honest question: Why are you attacking Chuck Schumer here instead of Susan Collins?
You’re running against around 8 other primary candidates and potentially one general election candidate. He’s none of them.
