Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

"Additional photographs show damage consistent with a bullet fragment lodged in a bedroom wall down the hallway — suggesting it traveled between a mattress and a portable crib in a room where several small children sleep."
"Photographic evidence from the shooting scene of a Venezuelan man by federal agents last month in Minneapolis supports the account of witnesses there – and appears to undercut the narrative provided by federal officials." www.startribune.com/ice-raids-mi...

One of the great ironies of student loans is that we'd all contribute far more to society if we didn't have that burden. Like anything that I spend on payments would be far more useful if I could put that into the local economy than the account of some nameless faceless loan servicer.

Hey folks, just a heads up that She-Ra is leaving Netflix soon and currently no one is set to pick it up, so if you if you enjoy warrior princesses kicking industrial ass through the power of friendship, it seems like now's the time to watch it

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

Airplanes should have the entry at the back of the plane to load front to back. This is most efficient. Otherwise first class should be at the rear. When we load front to back like this we all get jammed up waiting on earlier boarding groups to get their luggage in the compartments. It's dumb.

We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.

One of the more trivial personal regrets I have from college that I think about surprisingly often is when I allowed my academic counselor to talk me out of taking a history of fashion course. What would that have been like? Does anyone know of an affordable college that offers a course like that?
