⭐Wearing a mask is a cool and simple way not to spread disease! (and it’s never too late to start masking again!)⭐
Reposted by Lee
In 2026 let’s normalize masking for public health.

If we could admit that with healthcare being gutted, vaccine access restricted and previously eradicated diseases coming back… having an extra layer like a respirator makes good sense.

Let’s also normalize not mocking people who mask!

In a moment where RFK Jr is taking away life-saving vaccines and spreading health misinformation on an unprecedented scale, making comments that stigmatize other important layers of public health protections like mask wearing is not the play.

Underdiscussed point: how much responsibility Substack bears for Bari Weiss being in the position she is now in.

Fuck substack
the quality of work that bari weiss produced at THE FREE PRESS was dogshit-tier bad (even by the standards of right wing slop) but it was a financial success anyway because Substack's right wing owners and other oligarch benefactors heavily promoted it.

A timeslot hit

It's a government service. It's not supposed to make money.

No one talks about the armed forces losing a trillion dollars every year.

How much money did Congress lose last year? What was their revenue?

The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone.

There’s a difficult irony that many people would really rather not have to think about this (ie what started in 2020 that’s clearly still happening)… but willingness to confront it is also the best way to reduce your odds of ending up on this chart + having to think about it all the fucking time.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.

oh also, i hope this doesn't come off as "i hate your achievements" type. i hope everyone is celebrating anything whether big or small! paid off debt? new job? even the achievement of having to eat some favorite food from your childhood or the sun hitting the windows just sooo right, hell yeah dude!

i know a lot of people will post their achievements for the year and hey, good for them! but if you're like me who stuck for a whole year or so, i hope you find solace that you are not alone and that just living and existing for a whole year is such a big achievement on its own

IGA is correct here. I do not care at what point or what parts ai was used, bc the point is it was used at all. if we give this a pass, then studios will start doing more and more to force a new norm. this has to end now.

Does she genuinely think that 77% of viewers just... gave up? Took cold showers? Went to church?

No, they either switched on a VPN or kept googling until they found a tube site full of stolen content, nonconsensual images, and malware.
Traffic to UK porn sites has dropped 77% since age-verification went live.

UK legislator celebrates, saying she's "very pleased" with the drop, calling it a "green shoot."

I don't know how they can make it any clearer that they view AV as a tool to police adult sexuality.

Organize accordingly.
MP Jess Phillips says her 'heart bleeds' for adult site as traffic plunges 77%
Home Office minister Jess Phillips sarcastically said her "heart bleeds" for Pornhub after age verification checks led to a 77% drop in traffic to the UK's most visited adult site

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

Binders are the ONLY safe way to hide your chest as much as possible. Without binders, transmasculine folks have historically used dangerous methods such as bandages or duct tape, which are very harmful. Binder technology has revolutionized life for transmascs. They really hate us so much.
In addition to this administration trying to kill kids, and they're also coming for our binders? OUR BINDERS.

We don't need more articles centering the feelings of horrible parents mad their adult children cut them off. 🙄 They are not victims of some injustice, they're simply facing consequences of their actions. Most people actually don't want to cut off family. It *is* heartbreaking. But we are forced to.

Cool motive. Still bullshit tho.
