Fuck this dude. Literally making excuses for murdering and dismembering a journalist in an embassy.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

In somewhat good news, today the state department website has changed the answer to this question to defer to ICAO policy. Sources still tell me that there is some appetite for invalidation/reversion of passports issued under the injunction, but this message will be welcome to many trans people.

Sex work is illegal and stigmatized because keeping it illegal and stigmatized benefits buyers.
As someone who has frequently defended free speech rights of sex workers and sex work advocates, it's completely unsurprising but nevertheless galling to be reminded once again how POWERFUL MEN talk fondly about sex work in private while demonizing it and pushing oppressive laws about it publicly.

The worst, bleakest misogyny I've ever directly witnessed has been the misogyny adult mothers often direct towards teenaged girls.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Please don't gamble your health by buying sex toys from Amazon, Temu, or AliExpress.

(Or lube. Lube can be counterfeited or stored incorrectly, which I have personally learned the hard way.)

Why Buying Sex Toys from Amazon is a Risky Gamble — Dangerous Lilly
Buying sex toys from Amazon is risky. I get a lot of complaints about counterfeit sex toys, misrepresentation in brand/materials and even used sex toys.

Most of this was previously outlined by APAC’s codes of conduct and bill of rights, created by performers over a decade ago. Glad big studios are catching up! It’s good for industry, and the public to see.

Wish it covered AI, tags/marketing, individualized health agency...Curious what others think.

the Rosetta Stone of dem politics is the 2006 senate primary which incumbent Joe Lieberman lost in part for making out with George Bush

He ran anyway, won with GOP support, dems let him keep his seniority, chairmanships and perks & he rewarded them by obstructing the ACA & killing the public option
An important question you cannot skip over in pursuit of the Primary Them All solution is: how likely is it that defeating entitled narcissists in a primary will actually stop them from running?

Stop sharing AI slop.

It's one thing if you don't know or just made a mistake. No need to breathe down someones neck b/c its harder to tell nowadays.

But if you do know (ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO KNOW) even if you're posting it to make fun of it or sharing it unironically... consider not doing that.

The UK report behind the new porn ban blames it for being a major cause of violence against women, yet can't cite a single academic study showing a link.

Their proof? "Anecdotal evidence submitted to this review” with a single footnote to a BBC interview with a quote from a school teacher.
The ban on online porn showing choking is doomed to fail

On behalf of all non-binary people everywhere, I'm sorry we exist and make life harder for binary people, but I literally wear pins and have patches on jackets with "they/them" and you people still call me "him," so yeah I'd like you to ask me.
hot take: I think we should go back to assuming peoples pronouns. if we get it wrong, we should be corrected, say "thank you for correcting me", and not get it wrong again.
