Classic movie geek and cohost of ThirtyTwentyTen podcast. She/They.
“The Last Action Hero” had a scene where Tom Noonan as himself complains he only gets to play creeps, while earlier in the film he looked like this. That’s called having your cake and eating it too. RIP.

Too many great performances to list, so I’m gonna watch Lonesome Dove, which I somehow have never seen, despite my love of westerns and grizzled character actors. It’s on prime, Tubi, a bunch of other places.
Robert Duvall, the legendary character actor who specialized in playing rugged, complicated men, has died. He was 95. 🕊️

What’s something dumb about you that you have to explain to professionals?

For example, every doctor’s appointment, when they take my vitals, I have to tell them I’m not nervous, I just have a fast pulse, it’s not White Coat Syndrome, I’m fine.

A great argument for immigration reform in Europe: Do unto others.

“Spain was once a nation of emigrants. Our grandparents, parents and children moved to America and elsewhere in Europe seeking a better future during the 1950s and 1960s and following the 2008 financial crisis. …”

The last Oscar glass ceiling is in danger.

Another reason to love Ryan Coogler: He has ONLY hired female cinematographers: Rachel Morrison (Fruitvale Station, Black Panther), Maryse Alberti (Creed), Autumn Durald Arkapaw (Wakanda Forever, Sinners).

It just hit me “Imagine” is way more in line with Yoko’s art than John’s and she deserves credit.

Her conceptual art, her book “Grapefruit” - it’s all her telling us things to imagine. Years before they met. Read these, then imagine there’s no heaven.

@sonyaballantyne.bsky.social You’re the only person who’ll appreciate this.

I’ve been crazy tired lately, and my husband caught me a couple times singing “Wake up! (bah duh!) Wake up, Good-man! (bah duh DA!)”

He doesn’t know deep cuts, so is confused.

I’m falling in love with Minneapolis, and would consider moving there, but NorCal has made me soft. I’m in a pocket with no extremes: 45 degrees low in the winter, 75 high in the summer.

Reminder to ICE/CBP: They kept arresting and charging klan members who targeted civil rights activists for decades, and concentration camp guards well into their 90s.
Where are the resignations from ICE and CBP??? I guarantee you there are at least *some* who know this is wrong but arectaking the path of least resistance (“following orders”). They need to step down and speak up

#thetraitorsus is so wonderfully stupid, but I’m finally rooting for someone.

Rob is calm, cool and collected until Michael Rapaport misused “commiserating” too many times, and he yelled at him. I want him to win all the money and then some.

I expect ICE to head to Philly (or maybe Detroit) closer to the election.

They will get a spectacularly ugly welcome, meaning Fox has nonstop footage of Black people “rioting,” declare martial law, maybe arrest some Dem politicians, and fuck with the election.
I've heard rumors that Philadelphia is next for the ICE invasion after Minneapolis.
Maybe I'm wrong, but
1) More than 11% of all ICE agents are in Minneapolis, and they've utterly failed to pacify the city.
2) Philly is 5x the size of Minneapolis.
3) "Minnesota nice" is a thing. We don't have that.

It is illegal to lie to federal officers, so your response to *everything* is “I wish to remain silent. I’m not answering your questions.”

Add “shame on you” or “go fuck yourself” or “I’m not telling you where Anne Frank is either” at your discretion.
