Looks like we’re adding “Kingdom of Heaven” to the pantheon of films people take the exact wrong message from.

Scarface, Fight Club, American Psycho, The Matrix, and Wolf of Wall Street:

You can’t expect Democratic leadership to be in ARRAY after scoring big in elections a whole entire week ago!

If they’re not in disarray, they get hives. They are afrighted ever so.

Broke: Frankenstein is the monster.

Woke: Frankenstein is the doctor.

Bespoke: Frankenstein is the doctor that’s a monster.
I like to be fucking annoying when people do the “actually Frankenstein is the name of the scientist, not the monster” thing and go “actually Frankenstein is their mutual surname because they are father and son”

Honestly, it might be “A Goofy Movie.” A well-observed story about fathers and sons with solid laughs. I watched the documentary “Not Just a Goof” right after and was glad I did.
What is the best movie not from this year that you’ve seen this year? Bonus points if you say why

This moment in history brought to you by “Mississippi Masala,” starring Denzel Washington and Sarita Choudhury, now streaming on HBO and the Criterion channel.

Can you imagine having a quiet Sunday at home and Wallace Shawn rings your doorbell because he wants to talk to you?

Could you resist the urge to invite him in and make him coffee and basically kidnap him for three hours while you pepper him with dumb questions? COULD YOU?
On the other site, an 18-year-old Zohran canvasser described the legendary Wallace Shawn as "the actor who plays Dr. Sturgis on Young Sheldon" which is honestly adorable

During covid, I was part of the Auntie Sewing Squad, making free face masks. Because aunties look out for all the kids.

But the terrible truth is I began sewing a few months before the birth of my niece. I apologize for my stolen auntie valor. That’s not who I am. I promise to learn and grow.

I'm shocked to learn my father, an electrical engineer, has not seen Dad Movie Hall of Famer "The Martian."

I told him it's on Netflix and am now expecting a call any minute about the voltage output of the Opportunity rover and what kind of wire splice Matt Damon should use.

Let me drop local knowledge: Rob is from Pacifica, CA, just south of SF. Any time he drove to the Golden Gate Bridge, he would’ve passed the SHRINERS’ HOSPITAL FOR CRIPPLED CHILDREN on 19th Ave., opened in 1922. It still had that name on a sign out front when it closed in 1997.

The penalties for white-collar crimes and nonviolent street crimes should be swapped, especially in re. mandatory minimums.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

You cannot underestimate how ugly things will be in SF if Trump sends troops. There’s a reason they’re sticking to the areas around Chicago, not city center.

But all right wing complaints about SF are about downtown. Narrow streets, people able to move fast. Imma copyright “San Fallujah.”

Fuck this oligarch. We deserve better here in SF. Full magat now. It’s all about the $$$ and power.

“But it’s OK when WE do it” is the motto of the MAGA movement.

State violence, corruption, hurting kids, ruling by fiat, racism, censorship. It doesn’t matter. It’s backward logic: They’re the good guys, therefore everything they do is good too.

Hotter take: Each apartment represents a possible future for Lisa and Jeff. Stella calls him out for literally window shopping.

Hot take: each apartment represents a film genre:
Miss Torso = musical/comedy
Newlyweds = romance
Songwriter = drama
Thorwald = thriller/horror
Jeff’s apartment = the audience’s seat
