i quit a job in nonprofits and started a job in tech to ensure that my wife's extremely expensive condition would be covered no matter what. she would lack coverage today if it weren't for the ACA.

Yes. But remember: Know Your Values, Frame The Debate. Do not accept an unfavorable frame from hostile questioners! It is very hard to do this and requires explicit training because we are socialized from a young age to respond to questions directly (accepting the questioners frame)
Not to defend this word salad much, but part of this tendency of mainstream Dems is because the media relentlessly asking, "how will you do/pay for that". And if the Dem actually coughs up a workable detailed plan, the media just declare it unworkable. Something they NEVER do to Trump or the GOP.
