Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets.

He'll make a great mayor

I can hardly hear this (excellent) Jewish Currents podcast over the sound of my own angry screeching. As EIC Arielle Angel said, "I just don't know how these rabbis don't think they're fueling antisemitism by speaking in this way":

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

“Officers beat at least one other man; pushed over a woman w/a prosthetic leg; kept a woman’s hands tied until her skin swelled around the plastic; and took the ailing 82yo to the hospital, where, she later told me, an officer hit her in her side, took her pain meds, and told her, “Welcome to hell.”
"In Hebrew they commented on our appearances, called us Hamas, gestapo, and whores, and joked about our obvious discomfort as people shifted and vocalized in pain. A speaker blasted Israeli pop music."

Would love to see WR mayors do the same. :/
As noted in @graphicmatt.com's City Hall Watcher, Chow "asks staff to send every MPP stats about road deaths in their area & to send notifications to every household near a camera location letting them know about the potential safety impacts they could face if/when the cameras are switched off."

The questions are all very leading, but each answer can be up to two thousand characters, so feel free to tell AI Minister Solomon -exactly- how you feel about Canada's relationship with AI.

In polite, but excruciating detailed terms, of course; you don't want to be summarily discarded as a troll.

I didn't renew my subscription to the Cooking section this year because WAWOG correctly pointed out that it funds the NYT's disinformation about Palestine (and trans people, and now…this). And I won't go back, even though it's rutabaga week for my CSA share.
you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate

I'd like to suggest that "the worst part" is that people are speeding in school zones and putting kids and others at risk, not that they are getting caught for doing so.
“Over the last few years, we’ve seen municipalities across the province use municipal speed cameras as nothing more than a cash grab,” says Ford. “And the worst part is: people who are issued a ticket don’t know how to fight it, or make their case."
