Lots of misinformation here.
1) Energy companies don't own high voltage infrastructure being upgraded.
2) £104 of this already announced previously
3) Investment will result in £80 savings per person
4) We're talking about £2/month extra, 30p more than expected
5) Budget announced £150 saving each
UK energy bills to rise by £108 to pay for infrastructure upgrades.

Since 2020 energy companies made £125bn profit.

6.1m live in fuel poverty.
£4.43bn energy bills arrears.
128,000 a year die in fuel poverty.

Eliminate privatisation of profit. Use it to fund infrastructure. Nationalise.

Mason's misinformation was the top news item for two days. Not a bulletin went by on national TV or Radio in which he didn't put in a shift. Today he is NOWHERE to be found, of course.

The correction was given 25 seconds, at the end of News at 6, "in other news", just before an item about Santas.

Improving our country. Making a positive difference.

Just look at what they have achieved so far!

Thank you Labour! Keep at it!

If you missed @mrjamesob.bsky.social’s show 12-1pm today - it’s basically a one hour monologue where James eviscerates claims that Nigel Farage is no longer racist/antisemitic (using clips of the man himself that took place much more recently than the alleged teenage vileness). They didn’t like the market’s calm reaction on budget day, they didn’t like that they were not given exclusive leaks on the budget, they didn’t like that income tax was not raised directly. So they concoct a story and push it relentlessly. It’s a bitter vengeful made up story.

Let silly hacks go and work on their next bit of Westminster gossip. THIS is the main news from that conference. The clearest indication yet, right from the top.
👏🏽"We must all now confront the reality that the Brexit deal significantly hurt our economy. We have to keep reducing frictions. We have to keep moving towards a closer relationship with the EU. And we have to be grown up about it. To accept that it will require trade-offs."👏🏽

Rachel Reeves has succeeded in leading skittish UK bond markets to a safe place. Love or hate the politics of the Budget she delivered this week, it is churlish not to give her credit for that.

Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Lest we forget! Well done Victoria!
Victoria Derbyshire rinsed Baldwin - a washed-up Shadow Business hack from the 14-years-of-chaos Tory circus - after she moaned about Labour’s Budget. Derbyshire hit back: everything they whine about now is what they did while trashing the country. Fourteen years of ruin and they act brand new.

Better with Labour.
Carer’s Allowance overpayments

Since 2015 over 200k carers were overpaid due to complex rules around what income they were allowed to earn.

The DWP demanded payments back - often for thousands of pounds covering the full allowance.

Labour ordered an Independent Review in October 2024.
