A sky the colour of oil-slick, of pressed steel. Cranes bow over iron alters like angular saints. Every girder, every strut, wears a slick, wet coat of light, scribbling white and orange on the sides of ships, hulls drinking the dark. The air echoes of diesel and dust, tastes of salt and rust.
