I think this speech needs sharing again.

Since the PM said this, there have been Tories who have come out & said the same as Reform: that they want to see people with a legal right to be in the UK get deported.

Call it out and stand up for these people - our friends, neighbours and key workers.

There was absolutely NOTHING in the Chancellors press conference to suggest income tax was going up.

That was the media.

Again.

Going into it believing it was going up a coming out of it repeating the claim.

I never thought it was going up before & didn't think it after.

You're making me smile right now, after the last hour.

Your analogy about the rain is exactly how many of us feel about the media & Labour.

And countless people are being inundated with SO much fake news telling what Labour are all about.

This is the clip the Chancellor put out after her press conference.

It is therefore obvious this was the key message she wanted people to take away.

Where in this message do we get the idea of income tax rises?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social
Here is a short message the Chancellor wants you to take away from her speech today, rather than the nonsense put out by the media.

"A budget that protects the NHS, reduces our debt and improves the cost of living.

A budget that puts your priorities first.

An economy that works for everyone."

Oh @mrjamesob.bsky.social

I feel this is going to be another hour this week which I am going to be screaming at you for jumping on the media bandwagon rather than listening to what we have heard the Chancellor and PM publicly say.

Which has NEVER had them saying ANYTHING about income tax rises.

After years of Tory failure to sort out our prisons Labour are fixing them.

They have taken urgent action to sort out the prison places crisis and are investing in 14k additional places to ensure we don't face it again.

And here we see work has started on a 1,700 capacity prison in Leicestershire!

So many of you predicted this.

The media make a claim about rising income tax in budget to break the manifesto promise.

Then you said the media would claim it is not going to happen & the gov has u-turned due to pressure.

You predicted it & now it's happened.

We need to ignore media speculation!

While the media obess over gossip and a rumour mill of their own creation, the government get on with the job.

A job which, over time, people will see the positive impact from, regardless of the media.

Here the PM visits an FE college in Wales where the students will benefit from the 1st SMR.

Here we have the government news story for the scrapping of Police and Crime Commissioners that I posted about earlier today, after it was officially announced in the Commons.

How long have I been telling you to ignore it when the media goes on about anonymous sources, rumours and speculation?

Yet the ENTIRE country has been obessed with such things the last couple of days.

The BBC are now reporting that the PM has gone even further than what Robert Preston said yesterday.

Peston said he had been told it was all about someone on No10 answering journalists questions, not instigating briefings.

Yes!

Police and Crime Commissioners are to be abolished at the end of their current term in 2028.

Some regional mayors already have taken on these powers and more will now take on these roles. If an area doesn't have a mayor yet, the local councils will take on the role.

North Wales to pioneer UK’s first small modular reactors

Anglesey set for thousands of new jobs as PM confirms Wylfa will host UK's first small modular nuclear reactors.

This is excellent news and, if we are serious about reaching net zero and tackling climate change, an absolutely essential step.

Likely performed by those working for Russia in order to damage our economy and destabilise our country.

This is the 5th consecutive quarter of growth under the Labour government.

In comparison the last 5 Q's under the Tories saw 3 in growth and 2 in decline.

Can the people STILL shouting 'complicit in genocide' at the UK government just stop for a moment, take a step back & look at what is really happening.

There are multiple conflicts and crises around the world & Labour are doing a lot within their limited power to help people around the world.
