Tunnel Junction Semaphore, Worcester. 15 December 2024. #railway #photography
Lower quadrant semaphore TJ8, controlled by Tunnel Junction signal box in Worcester. As is typical, the distant signal is fixed. The pole and finial are a green/grey colour from the accumulation of lichen or suchlike. An old 15mph speed restriction is just behind the signal, on the right of the frame.

Semaphore signal SD6 (unlabelled) south of Sellafield station and sidings. The pole is quite rusty, no doubt because of its proximity to the sea.

A Call at Whittlesea. 9 March 2025. #railway #photography
Greater Anglia DMU 755409 has stopped at Whittlesea while working 2L75 Peterborough to Bury St Edmunds. The semaphore on the left protecting the level crossing - W3 - has already returned to danger. A clear semaphore is visible in the far distance. On the right, the top of the signal box is just visible over the fence and vegetation.

Neasden Junction Semaphore. 8 December 2024. #railway #photography
A fairly new semaphore signal stands at clear (presumably because the box was switched out when the photo was taken) in the area controlled by Neasden Junction signal box. Two labels make it doubly clear this is signal NJ5.

In the platform on the left is TfW DMU 197125, working a slightly delayed 2B65 Cardiff Central to Pembroke Dock. On the right is GWR IET 800005 “Aneurin Bevan”, working 1L26 Carmarthen to London Paddington, with the lower-quadrant semaphore cleared for it to proceed.
