I have long had an obscure, complex theory about Susan Collins that explains these things.

Susan Collins is terrible and anyone who ever suggested she is a moderate is a liar or a rube.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
In case anyone is wondering what kind of campaign Collins intends to run next year, now we know. No achievements, only hate:

Susan Collins backs referendum to overturn Maine’s protections for transgender students
Collins' office said she signed onto the petition because she agrees with President Donald Trump’s interpretation of Title IX.

Today, after the Coast Guard lifted a ban on swastikas and nooses as symbols of hate, and after President Trump called for the execution of members of Congress, it is time for every American to decide. Who will you be?

Here is Burt Lancaster as Nazi era judge Ernst Janning in Judgment at Nuremberg.

I haven't had enough time to process this yet but,

I've studied the anti-vax movement for 7 years of my career and I can't believe I'm now at the point where I can't recommend the CDC as a trustworthy source of health information.

This is dangerous, insane, and embarrassing.

This is 100% correct. Whatever we’re seeing now must not only be incomplete, but also must be far less damaging than what remains to be released.
You see Trump working the phones and realize White Housers are looking at this morning's emails and thinking, who cares abuot those nothingburgers we need to flip boebert so the bad stuff doesn't come out.

Trump's "it would cost a lot of money and be very difficult to undo" argument in favor of the tariffs is kind of giving away the game, huh? The whole point of most of this administration is to do a lot of damage very fast before anything gets through the courts, to make it hard to impossible to fix.

They’re wearing masks so they can’t be prosecuted later. As long as they think they can’t be prosecuted, their crimes will intensify. They will torture, starve and kill, as they have already, on greater and greater scale.

Signed, someone who’s covered the unaccountable War on Terror for 23 years.
I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

I probably fall into the same category of "student he may not remember," but I was delighted to see his name at the top and further pleased to read the article itself; it strikes at the heart of the harms toothless both-sides reporting does.

So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.

I was looking for a way to sum up my feelings about Cheney, and this goes a long way. One of the architects of the "just lie about it" movement in American politics of the 21st century, and one of the people who shoved the country hard in the wrong direction.
we ended up where we are now for a number of reasons, but one was that Dick Cheney realized he could go on camera, lie about saying things he’d previously said on camera, and TV interviewers would just sputter

Teen Vogue had stepped up the reporting plate in a big way lately, and that was clearly seen as a threat. Shame on the people directing these layoffs.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.
