Being pro trans rights doesn't lose you elections. Being transphobic doesn't win you elections. This was proven multiple times last night, across the country, including in what were apparently surprising places. We need to strike this idea from the "common wisdom."

There is a direct throughline from things this man fought tooth and nail for and many of the ills of the current era, including the imperial presidency we are now seeing. Dick Cheney was always of the opinion that Nixon should have fought for keeping the presidency powerful and unaccountable.

The thing that's shocking Americans is this used to be super classified and only come out in leaks, but since this administration is white knuckling through purely on fascist aesthetics, it gets posted by the SecDef and/or the president with full video and the evidence-less legal justification.
