To be clear, this is Graham Linehan appearing to celebrate the murder of a woman.
Graham Linehan claims he detonated his career, his family, his entire life, to protect women. He often asks people to "apologise to their daughters" if they disagree with him on trans rights.

And yet, when someone's daughter is executed by ICE, he shares Right-Wing propaganda that she deserved it.

I understand the pressures on the BBC, but Radio 4's coverage of the Minneapolis shooting is an example of "bad balance".

It's all "the Trump regime says she was a terrorist, but Democrats say it was murder".

The BBC has the footage. It doesn't have to treat truth and falsehood as equally valid.

Armed ICE officers ruthlessly swoop on US homes in the dead of night, rounding up men and locking them in shackles ready for deportation. The Mirror has watched them in action

It is interesting to note where we are in terms of the dying Empire. We are no longer lying about colonial imperialism and the use of force abroad. We are still lying about the violence being used in the imperial core. One wonders how long that will continue.
New moral low just dropped from the protector of women.

watching Helen Lewis claim she's got the key to understanding American politics is like watching a cat chasing a laser pointer, except the cat is somehow claiming it's figured out how to solve world hunger. also the cat is transphobic and will try to get you fired if you point this out

The BBC participated in the attempted rehabilitation of Linehan only a couple of months ago alongside much of our media

Lammy doesn't get nearly enough ire directed at him for the romantic lil' meet up with JD Vance gushing about the "values they share".
Starmer publicly mourned a neo Nazi and told the world he "shared" Trump's "family values".
We're not stupid Kaz.
How low can Polanski go? Weaponising the killing of the mother of a 6 year old girl, that’s how low.

Leadership clearly isn’t a Green Party strong point.
Trump started it.

Reform and Tories are at it too.

And Labour already heading in that direction.

All cruel, potentially deadly and does nothing to fix the cost of living crisis.

The rise of Trump has given them permission to be what they always wanted to be and to behave how they always wanted to behave. His entire sales pitch is: you don’t have to pretend any more, you can just say “I’m glad the cops, who represent me, are beating and killing people I hate”.

Many people thought it was still the case he jumped the barrier and had a backpack until last year when the doc and drama came out
Amongst everything else, I'm thinking about how eager the UK press were initially to swallow the Met's lie that Jean Charles de Menezes was a terrorist after they executed him in a tube station

The whole *point* of Eco's essay is that fascism is a broad spectrum of ideologies and governing strategies, and it will adapt to the national character of the society where it emerges. To say "yeah Trump hits all the points, but here are ways in which he differs somewhat from Hitler" is wild.
It also presumes only Hitler has ever been a fascist, which is ??? in an essay that so liberally quotes from Eco's essay about growing up under Mussolini.

As an American, I think a woman being murdered by ICE is inherently political.

It's also something that should 100% be highlighted when there's a political party in your country that actually wants to emulate the brutality and inhumanity of ICE in America.

Spare me from your pearl-clutching.

You're a councillor for a party of authoritarian, transphobic racists who are putting all the effort they can muster into punishing poor people and those with disabilities.

I know seeing someone oppose that is confusing for you scumbags, but you're going to have to get used to it.
